I’ve typed into this box about 14 times before I just said forget it // I’m not going to edit this, I’m just going to type & I don’t care if it makes sense or not.

The truth is, I don’t have enough of the right words in the right order to accurately depict what shooting this wedding meant to me. Simply being in the presence of this family, friends, loved ones for the entire weekend filled my heart to the brim and reminded me what it is to truly surround yourself with love, devotion, the truest of friendships, and unbreakable support. Exchanging promises, hugs, hand squeezes, Negronis, laughs, and tears. Incredible speeches shared over the weekend about endurance, unbreakable strength, and the power of “yes, let’s do that”. About only living once and squeezing every last juicy ounce out of life while you have it. Sentiments that will ring true for years and years to come. To say Danie, Eric, and their families have had an easy road wouldn’t be the truth — it’s marked with hospital visits, scans, bad news mixed with good, complications, anxious handholds & waiting rooms. The things that no parent, child, or friend ever wants to endure. But that’s not their whole story — more importantly, their story is early mornings with their son, couch sitting & game room playing, the warm Caribbean sun, homemade pasta by Nonna, holidays, weekends away, a simple hug after a long day at work. Their hardships have only strengthened their story…tiny twists in the narrative that remind you life is such a precious, precious gift. But they already know that, and that’s why their next chapter began with an early October day in the countryside of Tuscany, Italy. Surrounded by sweetest of friends & dearest family, I was proud to share this day with them. Really, my photos don’t do it justice. But I tried.
