Megan & Rick

CASPhoto_MeganRick089

It’s kind of funny that in this industry you can still be surprised. With the overload of wedding blogs, information, inspiration, combined with the number of times I’ve done this, I didn’t think there would be much left to leave me saying “now THAT was awesome.” Enter Megan & Rick. For some reason, after our first meeting, I thought I knew what I was in for. They were sweet, we talked here and there about where the wedding would take place… but little did I know it would present an amazing venue, an even more wonderful crowd, a loving family, and 2 really, really cool clients. This was a fun one. Cheers to these two and thanks for having me along!

And thank you to Amber Knecht for shooting alongside me!

Mallory & Dave

CASPhoto_DaveMallory_Blog-34

A little history is involved with this wedding. On both sides. Dave is the other half of which introduced me to Tyler way back when. To him, I’m forever grateful and him & Mallory have become such great friends of ours. You may have also recalled him and Mallory’s engagement session last December in an old warehouse (which has since burned down — the saddest story and it still breaks my heart knowing that treasure is gone). Well, go up the street 5 minutes, and you’re here. A beautiful historic property that has also been in Mallory’s family for over 50 years. Her mother grew up here and got married here 30 years prior. Things come full circle and I love it. Couldn’t have been happier to spend this day with friends and party a bit myself. Also. Hands down best food I’ve eaten at a wedding, their caterer was phenomenal.

Thank you to Julia Manchik for killing it second shooting for me. Some of the images below are hers. Also a huge shout out and thank you to Seattle Bride Magazine for featuring this bad boy. So fun to see it in print — and all the hard work is worthy of many eyes.

A Look Back at 2014

CASPhoto_Bestof2014Photos-140

2014. What a year. By far my busiest yet, filled with highs and lows, and the best kind of charm. Some days, the inspiration couldn’t be contained. If you opened me up, it would hit the floor…alive and on fire. Other days it was empty & dry and comparison sucked every ounce of satisfaction out of me. But in all, it was one of intense learning. Time spent filling my brain with art, new cities, new recipes. Pushing myself in shoots, climbing a little higher, staying a little longer. Of doing exactly what I said I would do last year — get out of my comfort zone. Shoot less, observe more. Spend more time with friends, family & my love. Get out and swim in the summertime, and dammit, I did. Here’s to 2015. I’m comin’ for ya.

Brooke & Boone

CASPhoto_BrookeBooneblog-1

On a lovely day in August, I flew out to meet Brooke & Boone and capture their wedding weekend in Sun Valley Idaho. Fun fact, I’ve actually  known Brooke since I was a wee one. Her family is also from the Issaquah area and our overlap of friends over the years has allowed me to see her here and there. But it was wonderful to see Brooke here…in the present, grown up, beautiful, mature, funny and oh so kind. Amazing how this job allows me to re-enter lives like this. And in the best way possible.

In all, the landscape, the people, the personal, private vows spoken on top of a hill was a surefire way to create one of my favorite weddings. Thanks for having me B & B. And thank you to Dani Arbaca for coming along and shooting with me.CASPhoto_BrookeBooneblog-3CASPhoto_BrookeBooneblog-5CASPhoto_BrookeBooneblog-6CASPhoto_BrookeBooneblog-2CASPhoto_BrookeBooneblog-4

Holiday Printables 2014

You guys probably thought I forgot about ya’ll for holiday tags, didn’t ya? Welp, to be honest, I almost scrapped it, but I couldn’t imagine heading out to celebrate this season without a little something for all of you lovelies out there. Even if it’s the day before Christmas Eve (or if  you’re anything like me and LAST MINUTE) you can print these suckers out, cut, and pop them onto any gift to add a little something. Just click the link at the bottom of this post and  a PDF will pop up that you can download and print at home! Customize with your own ribbons, gold pens, etc. :)

Cheers to you all and merriest of holidays to you and your families & friends.
