Recently

Again, getting so behind on blogging it’s not even funny. October & November were (to be totally honest) a little rough for me. I packed in so many shoots in so little time that I ended up burning myself out a bit….. but, I was able to come out the other side alive and kickin’ with a little lesson to not overdo it like that ever again. hah! My recent escape to Costa Rica was SO unbelievably needed and I can’t wait to share some images from that as well. So, as I reorganize life a bit since getting home from this epic trip, a little update in what I’ve been up to. And don’t worry, images from Costa Rica (and some holiday cheer) coming for ya soon!

I love it when worlds collide — Sean, the groom, has been my faithful letterpress printer for years and now it was his turn to get behind the camera. Him and his lady, Marta, are straight out of a Vogue magazine (just wait…) and I couldn’t have been happier to show up on a 78 degree beautiful September day to photograph the two of them.

They say timing is everything. And it’s true. Same place, same time (ahem, a Husky tailgate)…. and a meeting that would turn into a relationship. One that would eventually turn into a proposal (and soon-to-be-wedding) in Hawaii. These two are proof that a promise of a lifetime can come when you least expect it. So excited for Nancy & Greg. Equestrian Culture Magazine

Theres been a funny thing happening over the last 6 months — opportunities that arise that really push me out of my comfort zone. Yes, weddings may be my sweet spot, but when Leah & Danielle of Equestrian Culture Magazine approached me about executing a styled fashion shoot for their new Fall issue, I knew we had something good brewing here. That little tinge of nervousness going into a shoot like this has been pure gold. Just enough of “gosh, I hope this goes well,” to create work I’m really proud of.

And I will say, nothing quite trumps the feeling of seeing your work in print. And I’m so excited that this is my first cover! You’ll have to pick up an issue to see which images they used in an amazing 7-page feature.

Thank you to the beautifully talented Kristen Lawson for hair/make-up, Ashleigh & Alexa for modeling, & Leah & Danielle for having me. This team was a dream to work with.
