• Wedding Suites // Blakely & Matthew •

Absolutely loved working on these glamorous gold-foil wedding suites for Blakely & Matthew. They are getting married next month at the Arctic Club in Seattle, so we worked to have the invitations be a grand preview to the beautifully ornate venue — I think we succeeded.

Each piece was printed offset in black onto Ecru Crane Letra and then gold foiled with a “dusted gold”. We used patterns and borders to cue an art-deco style, but also kept it modern with a clean serif typeface and a calligraphic typeface. The suite included a main invitation with gold shimmer lined black envelopes — complete with calligraphy from Carolyn Kach — a reply card & gold-stamped reply envelopes, and an accommodations card all wrapped together with a delicate gold thread. Overall, I’m overjoyed with how they turned out and have to say they’re some of my favorite invites to date.

Featured on Oh So Beautiful Paper — thanks again Nole for the feature — as well as Design Work Life.

Friday Favorites // Stacy Anderson

Just a few beautiful tidbits from the extremely talented Stacy at Stacy Anderson Design. I absolutely can’t wait to work with this talented gal again next week for another styled shoot. She has such an amazing eye for this stuff! Thursday can’t come soon enough.

• WED // Jason & Irene •

In early January I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding alongside Sean Thompson down in Sacramento — a good time was had by all. I was honored to be brought into this celebration as an outsider, and leave as someone who intimately witnessed a beaming love between two people and a true bond between families. It was truly a great celebration on all fronts.

Sean took beautiful photos — go check them out yourself — and a huge thank you to him for allowoing me come along on this trip! Here are a few (okay more than a few) moments I found memorable.

• Weekend Away •

My boyfriend and I took a weekend away from the city and headed up towards the coast. Bainbridge, Port Townsend, Dungeness Spit, Port Angeles, Forks, La Push. Brought my good ‘ol Canon AE-1 and shot a few rolls and really love how the color turned out — also tried a few double exposures. Overall, it was a great, soggy, Pacific Northwest weekend.

WED // AMY & KENN

Sometimes, relationships come full circle. Sometimes, you can’t create a better love story if you tried — or predict that your perfect someone was right underneath your nose the whole time. And sometimes, just sometimes, they decide to get married in St. John and ask you to come along. Sometimes…okay, all the time…I really, really love my job.

Amy & Kenn. I’m somewhat at a loss of words on how to describe these two. Their hearts for other people, and for one another. They made me feel like part of the family….checking in on me….making sure I was doing okay…if I needed anything. That’s totally not the way it should be…. I’m the one forever indebted to the two of them for allowing me to do what I do, in a place like this, on their big day, with all of their closest family & friends. Even the guests at the wedding made me feel at ease — I’ve created friends & relationships that will last a looonggg time.

Sometimes you get to shoot amazing weddings with amazing people in amazing places. Amy, Kenn & family — a giant THANK YOU for having me and making me feel so at home with all of you. Best, best, best wishes to you as newlyweds.

Rehearsal dinner at an UNREAL location. A restaurant on the side of a cliff overlooking the bay. Sighhhh

The wedding day!

GORGEOUS.

So excited I got to spend time with these lovely humans. :) The Gradwohl’s are my fav.
